Helen Carmody

I am Helen Carmody, I have a passion for teaching and learning which is always centered around student outcomes. I have 12 years experience in teaching which has involved lots of different roles and responsibilities.

Prior to moving to the UAE, I was in the UK where I worked across a number of schools that were part of a multi academy trust consisting of 32 schools. Part of my role was to develop teaching and learning in the schools through departmental inspections, leading on workshops and delivering training sessions to staff. All of my work is based upon the impact it will have on student performance. I was part of a leadership team that transformed a school from special measures to good within 18 months thus improving student experiences and outcomes.

I was very lucky to be given the opportunity to move to the UAE in 2019 and work for GEMS. Here at GEMS Winchester school Dubai, I will continue my work to strive for excellence helping to provide students with a learning environment that inspires, motivates and gives them access to a curriculum, both academic and through personal development, which allows them to achieve their full potential.
