Charlotte Goode

My name is Charlotte Goode, and I have worked for GEMS Education since 2013. I joined the GEMS Winchester School Dubai family in 2022 as Assistant Head of Primary and, after progressing through senior leadership, was appointed Head of Primary in 2026. I hold an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Studies, a PGCE in Primary Education and the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

Throughout my career, I have remained committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing and ambitious Primary School in which every child feels safe, happy and ready to learn. I believe that children achieve their best when they feel genuinely known and valued, experience consistently high expectations and are supported by strong relationships between school and home.

I am a passionate advocate for reading because I believe it is the gateway to everything else: the gateway to accessing the curriculum, the gateway to lifelong learning and future success, and the gateway to the simple joy of being transported to another place through a book. Developing confident, enthusiastic readers is therefore central to my educational philosophy and my vision for Primary at WSD.

At the heart of my leadership is a commitment to developing the whole child - academically, socially and emotionally. Every student is an individual, shaped by their own family background, experiences, strengths and needs. Our responsibility is to understand each child, celebrate what makes them unique and provide the right balance of care, support and challenge to enable them to fulfil their potential.

This child-centred approach is what makes WSD such a special community. My ambition is that every student leaves Primary as a confident and compassionate young person, equipped with strong academic foundations, a love of learning and the belief that they can achieve great things.
