Dean Wallis

My name is Mr Dean Wallis, Assistant Headteacher of Secondary, I am originally from the United Kingdom and hold a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Essex, a PGCE in Physical Education and the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL).

My career in education began as a Physical Education teacher, and I have since held a range of leadership positions across teaching and learning, curriculum development, careers education, enrichment and school improvement. My background in PE continues to shape my leadership approach, particularly my belief in teamwork, resilience, high expectations and the importance of supporting the development of the whole child.

In my role as Assistant Headteacher at GEMS Winchester School Dubai, I lead on data, assessment and timetabling. I work closely with students, staff and families to ensure that assessment information is used effectively to monitor progress, inform teaching and provide students with the right support and opportunities to succeed.
