Joannes Esquinas

I am Joannes Paulus Esquinas, and I am proud to have been part of GEMS Winchester School Dubai for 14 years. As a home-grown leader and current Assistant Head Teacher for Primary, I am passionate about creating a nurturing, inclusive and supportive environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

In my role, I work closely with our Primary teams to ensure that curriculum planning and timetabling are carefully structured to provide students with a balanced and enriching learning experience. I place particular importance on ensuring that both core and creative subjects are thoughtfully allocated to support high-quality teaching, student engagement and holistic development.

As part of my pastoral leadership responsibilities, I am committed to working closely with students, families and teachers to promote positive wellbeing, strong relationships and a sense of belonging across our school community. I believe that effective pastoral care is central to helping students feel safe, valued and confident, enabling them to thrive both academically and personally.

I am proud to continue my journey at WSD and look forward to working collaboratively with our students, families and staff to ensure that we continue to provide the very best opportunities for every child.
