Monique Daillo
Assistant Head - EYFS & KS1 - Primary
I am a passionate and values-driven educator, and at the heart of my approach is creating positive learning experiences for children and supporting colleagues to develop their practice. With 13 years of experience across schools in the UK and UAE, I have experience across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, giving me a broad understanding of the British National Curriculum and progression throughout the primary phase.
With a degree in Psychology, I have a particular interest in child development, wellbeing and understanding how children learn. My experience in EYFS and Key Stage 1 has developed a strong passion for play-based learning, continuous provision and creating environments where children feel confident, valued and motivated to learn. I am also Forest School trained, which has further developed my interest in outdoor learning and its role in fostering children's independence, confidence and wellbeing.
Throughout my career, I have held leadership roles including Head of Year, English Lead and Pastoral Lead, with a focus on teaching and learning, curriculum development, staff development and improving outcomes for pupils. I particularly enjoy working alongside teachers, sharing ideas and helping colleagues grow in confidence and practice.
As Assistant Head of Primary, I am particularly focused on EYFS and Key Stage 1. I am committed to high-quality teaching and learning, supporting staff development and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive. I believe strongly that education works best when children, families and school work together, and I look forward to building positive relationships with our pupils and families throughout the year.
